A close twitter friend let his life_mound grow too tall, and he let it collapse in Feb. It was horrible & we could do nothing from the internet. He’s recovered and is in a much better place rn. His goodbye tweets are chilling & beautiful.

In a desperate attempt to justify my student status in a printmaking MFA program, I’d like to crowdsource reasons why I (or anyone) should be a printmaker. Potentially controversial traits of printmaking are:
1. Multiplicity (should you choose to edition)
2. Indirectness, meaning you make something that marks the paper… rather than just making marks on the paper.
3. Aged - We can make digital images and print them on paper (for better or for worse).
If anyone has thoughts on any of these traits within the contemporary art field, I’d love to read your replies! If you’d like to have some ongoing dialogue, I’d also enjoy exchanging emails at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cheers! Paint on.
